Designed by Gustav Eiffel, the Eiffel tower was built as a temporary structure for the World Exhibition held in Paris. As with the Pyramids, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Acropolis, the Coliseum and the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower stirs the curiosity and evokes admiration.
